The “Medicine Wheel” also known as “Sacred Circles” or “Sacred Hoop”, and “Sun Dance Circle”, can vary from different Indigenous Peoples, Native American Tribes, and cultures. Most contain a center and four directions. Each of the four directions have stones leading to the center known as Spirit Paths. The center stone depicts the Creator or Great Spirit. 7 stones circling the center comprise Mother Earth, Father Sky, Grandmother Moon or Spirit Tree, and the 4 Elemental Clans. 3 stones between each direction compile the 12 Moons. Some are divided into 4 quadrants red, black, white, and yellow. The animals and colors can be different for different peoples.
